The challenge was to design an iconic poster that ‘speaks’ loud enough to appeal to a younger target audience without excluding the actual members of The Kring Society. For this, I choose a traditional approach with a handmade drawing and colors that are strong, without being overwhelming. « Knetterlinks » can be used as a slang to describe something super dangerous, but is also a term used in dutch politics to describe « super left party ». My intention was to keep the joke subtle by portraying a left-wing Dutch politician with a ‘70s gangster appearance.
What I love about this work is the simple concept behind it that easily allowed me to create an infinite version of it.
